Our history.
Heidi Cuny established Cuny Communications in September 2010 as an individually owned and operated consulting firm. We began with a website project for the South Dakota Indian Business Alliance and quickly gained clients to include the Native CDFI Network, a national coalition formed to unite the Native CDFI industry, and Four Bands Community Fund, an award-winning Native CDFI located in Eagle Butte, South Dakota. As the company established itself as a quality provider of marketing and communications products and services, its clientele and menu of services continued to grow.
In January 2012, Cuny Communications officially began to operate as a limited liability company (LLC) with Heidi Cuny and Ethan Cuny as its members. We currently have an active client base of organizations that are key players in the Native economic development field, and provide a broad range of services related to research and planning, visual communications, press and media relations, and capacity building and training.
